South East 4x4 Response were proudly supporting Cancer Research UK at the Race for Life in Mote Park, Maidstone, over the weekend!
We were pleased to join other emergency volunteer services sharing what we do to support Kent Police at their annual show. This year our brand new emergency inflatable shelter was on show along with much of the equipment we have for our volunteers to use, dependent on the situation we have been called to support.
Our popular fundraising events trailer was at the Historic Dockyard Chatham for the Armed Forces Day 40th anniversary with a team of our volunteers raising funds for further safety equipment to be used during our call outs. A very hot but successful fun day was had by all.
Several South East 4x4 Response members were at Minnis Bay to support Kent Fire and Rescue Service at their Meet and Greet afternoon for the local population. For us, this was the second of several being held. A good time was had by all attending.
South East 4x4 Response members were delighted to support Lenham Parish Council's event which gave the Royal Electrical And Mechanical Engineers (REME) Freedom of the Parish, 80 years after the Lenham tragedy when 46 REME personnel lost their lives after a V1 "flying bomb" crashed into the living accommodation of the 6 Guards Tank Brigade […]
Members were out supporting the Heart of Kent Hospice annual Bluebell Walk near Harrietsham transporting marshalls and water stations to their respective points at the start of the day. For our first event this year we supported the St George's Day Family Fun Day at Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey. A good day was had by all, both the fundraising team and those visiting our stall.
Our fundraising team can be found at many events throughout the year raising funds towards our on going costs to keep our equipment up to date and purchasing new as needed. The team were The Heritage Transport Show at Detling in May. They were also on hand to jump start a vehicle or two.
South East 4x4 Response members were delighted to support the Heart of Kent Hospice run by closing roads to keep the runners safe whilst the event took place.
The 7th year for some of our volunteers, using their own 4x4s, to tow Santa's sleigh around various locations in the Sittingbourne area to enable him to say an early hello to children and their parents.
